“The thing is, my appearance—that’s never been my moneymaker. I’m fine being small. I’m fine being all the things I am.” – Anna Kendrick
I adore Anna Kendrick’s honesty! As I approach my thirties, I am becoming more aware beauty is fleeting. When we wash off the make up at the end of the day, we are left with our hearts.
“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7
We are born with spiritual gifts. Talents unique to us far outweighing the trendy hairstyle of the moment. Traits accentuating our beauty and uniqueness from the inside out. Rather than worry about perceived flaws, we should root our confidence in our spiritual faith and trust God to shape our hearts.
I challenge you this week to write down areas where your confidence may be misplaced. Spend some time in prayer asking God to open your eyes to your spiritual gift so you may continue His work here on Earth.
Whatever flaws you may be seeing, please know you’re beautiful, friend. You “are fine being all the things [you are].”
