“In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus.” – Jeremy Camp
My intentions mean well, but often I choose to sleep the extra 10 minutes rather than hop out of bed (as if those ten minutes offer more to my day than causing me feel rushed). An Instagram post I read this morning (oh sure, I can make time for Instagram) made the point that we never regret starting the day with the Lord, but we do regret those times we are too rushed to acknowledge His presence.
“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD…” – Jeremiah 29:12-13
He’s waiting for us to come to Him. I challenge you (and myself) to finish this week meeting with God each morning 5, 10, 20 minutes. However long. Linger in His presence awhile rather than rush through the day on your own strength.
